Paramus Detective Lieutenant Jimmy Teehan is Featured in Podcast Episode of ‘A Police Officer You Should Know With Joe Piscopo’

Paramus Detective Lieutenant, Jimmy Teehan, is a featured guest on an episode of “A Police Officer You Should Know With Joe Piscopo.”

The podcast series, hosted by Joe Piscopo, highlights police officers across the country who teach the Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence (L.E.A.D.) curriculum on the dangers of drugs, alcohol and violence.

In Paramus, the L.E.A.D. program, which emphasizes the value of drug and violence prevention, is taught to 350 fifth grade students at East Brook Middle School and West Brook Middle School each year. During the episode, Lieutenant Teehan discusses his experience teaching the L.E.A.D. curriculum to the students, which is strengthening his relationship with children in school, as well as with the Paramus community.

L.E.A.D. provides services “on the street” and “in the classroom” as it brings communities and police forces closer together. The “in the classroom” program is taught by 3000 trained instructors in 41 states. L.E.A.D. has the only proven effective, law enforcement-focused anti–drug, anti–violence curriculum for K-12 students in the U.S. The L.E.A.D. curriculum is taught over the course of a 10-week program to educate youth on how they can make smart decisions without the involvement of drugs or violence.
