Curricula

LAW ENFORCEMENT ON THE STREET (OTS) Training:

This training is designed to educate all Law Enforcement Officers in a detailed curricula that addresses the Mission of L.E.A.D. in its efforts to serve law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.

L.E.A.D recognizes that in order to serve Law Enforcement Agencies, we need to ensure all officers are given the tools to address this growing social problem. The ON THE STREET Program is a nice enhancement to our IN THE CLASSROOM Program.  However, agencies not participating in our IN THE CLASSROOM component are encouraged to participate in our ON THE STREET Program to see firsthand the resources and services that we have developed for L.E.A.D. Agencies.  Participation in our ON THE STREET Program does not require participation in our IN THE CLASSROOM programs.  However, having the most tested and proven effective K-12 school based curricula is another great service for future consideration to your agencies.

Mission

We will provide the leadership, resources and management to ensure law enforcement agencies have the means to partner with our educators, community leaders, and families by providing proven and effective programs to deter youth and adults from drug use, drug related crimes, bullying and violence. We are committed to reinforcing the mutual respect, goodwill and relations between law enforcement and their communities.

Our Vision

To create safer, healthier communities free of drugs, bullying, and violence throughout our country and ultimately teh world.

Goals

The major training goals of OTS are to:

  • provide accurate information regarding the consequences of psychoactive substance use, bullying and violence particularly for children and adolescents,
  • demonstrate that the fields of prevention science and police science provide the bases for the prevention and amelioration of these issues through evidence-based programming,
  • underscore the role of L.E.A.D. in being the vehicle through which this knowledge can be implemented through community-based programming.

The training is delivered in four modules:

  • Module 1- Psychoactive Substances, Their Properties and Actions, and Consequences
  • Module 2- Psychoactive Substances and Crimes in the United States
  • Module 3- Bullying and Violence
  • Module 4-Law Enforcement’s Role in Building Safe Communities

Upon successful completion of the Officer OTS training:

  • Each officer receives a OTS certificate.
  • Each department will receive recognition on the L.E.A.D. website and newsletter as a certified OTS agency.
  • Available to each department will be the option to purchase:
    • L.E.A.D. OTS certification plaque for display at their facilities
    • L.E.A.D. OTS certification magnets for official vehicles
    • L.E.A.D. OTS certification patches and/or pins for uniforms

EDUCATOR ON THE STREET (OTS) Training:

This training is designed to educate all Educators in detailed curricula that addresses the Mission of L.E.A.D. and its efforts to serve school districts through the United States.

L.E.A.D recognizes that in order to serve Schools Districts, we need to ensure all educators are given the tools to address this growing social problem. The ON THE STREET Program is a nice enhancement to our IN THE CLASSROOM Program. However, agencies that are not participating in our IN THE CLASSROOM component are encouraged to participate in our ON THE STREET Program to see firsthand the resources and services that we have developed for L.E.A.D. PARENT ON THE STREET (OTS) Training:

An informational online presentation for parents and caregivers in your community.  Current Drugs of Abuse will be shown as well as signs and symptoms.  A list of resources will be included that they can access for more information or for assistance.
