Module 1 Objectives

L.E.A.D. Officers will be able to:

  • Define psychoactive substances and substance abuse
  • Understand that a child’s positive relationships with trusting and caring adults is the key to successful emotional and social development
  • Identify connections between the Too Good curricula and positive behaviors taught to children
  • Gain an understanding about common drugs and their humanistic effects on individuals and communities
  • Understand the role of Narcan in combatting  an opioid overdose epidemic and understand the need for long-term treatment
