Module 1 Objectives

LEAD Officers will be able to:

  • Define psychoactive substances and substance abuse
  • Understand that a child’s positive relationship with trusting and caring adults is the key to successful emotional and social development
  • Identify connections between the Too GOOD curriculum and positive behaviors taught to children
  • Gain an understanding about common drugs and their humanistic effects on individuals and communities
  • Describe the use of Narcan as an immediate remedy to an opioid overdose and understand the need for long-term treatment
